This Cultural Competence course together with other courses form a high-quality e-learning for midwives. These modules and programmes have been developed by the UK’s medical royal colleges, Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare, and other professional bodies.
Having a greater awareness of a wide range of cultural beliefs can help healthcare professionals to meet the differing needs of patients and their families.
The Cultural Competence e-learning programme helps you to understand key issues relating to culture and how this may influence the uptake of healthcare and treatment options. It is hoped that this programme will help to reduce disparities in healthcare outcomes.
Programme overview: The programme consists of three bite-sized learning sessions, each taking around 20 to 30 minutes to complete:
